Ingredients for making cheese bread with sour dust:
2 cups of sour sprinkles
1 cup of sweet powder
100 milliliters of water
150 milliliters of milk
50 milliliters of oil (can be soy, sunflower or canola)
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of grated cheese (very full cup)
1 egg
How to make cheese bread with sour powder:
First, sift both types of dust in a bowl to avoid lumps.
Tip: The sour flour will make your cheese bread grow more and become crunchy on the outside, while the sweet will help form the crumb very soft.
In a saucepan, boil the milk, oil, water and salt. Turn off as soon as it comes to a boil as the mixture may overflow.
Pour this hot liquid mixture into the container with the powder, to blanch.
With a large, sturdy spoon, stir well to ensure that all the powder has been scalded. Wait for this mixture to cool to continue the recipe.
Tip: If you add the egg and cheese with it still hot, your recipe could go wrong.
Add the egg and grated cheese to the scalded and already cold flour. Knead for 5 minutes until it forms a consistent and uniform dough, as in the photo.
Tip: The cheese used for this recipe was mozzarella, but you can use another one of your choice. Some suggestions are: semi-cured cheese, mozzarella, parmesan and provolone. If you want, you can also mix two to three cheeses of your choice!
Divide the dough, make balls the size you prefer and place on an oven tray. Bake in preheated oven at high temperature for 30 minutes.
Tip: Leave space between the cheese bread balls so they can grow without sticking together. Always keep an eye out not to burn, as the temperature of the ovens can vary.
